For nine-months, you’ve been complaining that you’re always feeling sleepy and now that you finally given birth, you begin to complain about not getting enough sleep at all! Indeed, a funny ironic. During the first 3 months, most babies sleep for about 12 to 15 hours per day, which include complete nighttime sleep and naps. However, when the baby finally reaches the age of 3 months, they begin to have a regular sleep/wake pattern, sometimes; they may not even wake up the whole night. However, this does not necessarily entail that as a mother, you will have to oblige a rigid sleep program. Truth is, at this age, the baby might have probably developed a particular sleep patterns that is suited to your family way. Sleeping Patterns of Baby
Many first time mothers will be shocked at the irregular sleeping pattern of their new born baby and usually they are not prepared. Most newborns will wake up to 5 times in the night and needs to be fed every 2 hours or so and diapers are needed to be change and most first time parents will feel exhausted after 2 weeks because adults needs to sleep at least 6 straight hours to be able to get complete rest and function normally the next day. However the demands of a new born baby will interfere with your night time sleep and the best thing to do is to ask your partner to changed nights with you, so that one of you can get a restful sleep every other night.
